Health centre combining allopathy,homeopathy,ayurveda in east Delhi

To spruce up health services in East Delhi area, a hub of the upcoming Commonwealth Games, Delhi government's third health centre, offering allopathic, homeopathic and ayurvedic treatments, was opened today. Inaugurating the three-storeyed Centre, Delhi Finance Minister A K Walia said, ''This centre will have treatment facilities under all three medicine systems of allopathy, homeopathy and Ayurveda under one roof.'' Constructed at a cost of Rs two crore, this is the third Health Centre of Delhi government in east Delhi. The ground floor has room for medical officers, injection and dressing, pharmacy, Directly Observed Treatment-Short Course (DOTS) Centre and store have been constructed whereas the first floor houses a laboratory, family planning and Reproductive and Child Health services, malaria room and vaccine store. ''The centre, a disabled-friendly building, will cater to the needs of families putting up in areas like Bank Enclave, Priyadarshini Vihar, Kishan Kunj, Sarojini Park, Kundan Nagar, Guru Ram Dass Nagar, Khajuri Khas, Laxmi Nagar and Shastri Nagar,'' Dr Walia added. A home for the aged in the area is also on the anvil, he shared.

East Delhi MP Sandeep Dikshit, who was also present on the occasion, said, ''Opening of more health centres will definitely de-congest big hospitals and the residents of the area must avail of its facilities.''
